Centaur Media PLC

A member of Centaur’s marketing department found Mainstream Marketing UK Ltd after an on-line search and conducted a brief telephone interview to establish initial suitability as an outsourced telephone marketing resource. Mainstream Marketing were selected as a candidate for Centaurs’ short list and after accepting a formal brief, a face-to-face meeting and subsequently quoting, Mainstream Marketing emerged the agency of choice for Centaur.

 

After conducting a very successful telemarketing campaign for The Travel Technology Show at London’s Olympia, Mainstream Marketing were retained to help launch a brand new show called “Portfolios” at the prestigious Central Hall, Westminster. The show was put together by Creative Review and the Creative Handbook and was a dedicated event for all art directors, designers, buyers and commissioners of photography and illustration. It provided a fantastic opportunity to view the work of hundreds of the finest photographers and illustrators and included two exclusive seminars as well as free workshops.

 

The brief included calling pre-registered attendees, not just to keep the event “top of mind” but to remind them to book suitable seminars and that there was a drinks reception on the first day and an opportunity to network with their peers. This strategy also encouraged increased take up of the event by their colleagues too.

 

Mainstream Marketing was also to target c.50 key, high profile delegates, whose presence would help the show be considered a success and would therefore establish it as an annual event.
There also included some post-registration telemarketing to confirm attendance etc mainly for the benefit of the exhibitors.

 

After a lot of sheer hard work from both Centaur & Mainstream Marketing, with less than a week to go until the launch, pre-event estimates had exceeded all expectations and the promised attendance by the key delegates was phenomenal!

 

All was proceeding nicely, the first day proved to be more busy & successful than anybody dared hope, but at 19:00 that evening a tube strike was announced that would potentially devastate attendance on the final day!

 

At a moment’s notice Mainstream Marketing were on the ‘phone first thing on the morning of the final day, calling all VIP’s in order to make their journey to the event effortless by ordering taxis for them at their desired time. An innovative and creative solution that not only helped save the day but demonstrated customer care way above and beyond the norm. Even those VIP’s that could no longer make the show were appreciative (& pleasantly surprised) of the level of attention they were receiving and again kept the show “top of mind”.

 

A second show is currently being planned for next year.
